It
provides us with energy for everything. Which means that we do not get cold in
winter, nor heat in summer. It allows us to illuminate our homes, places of
work, or get spectacular decorations. It causes a multitude of devices to work
with electric current (an energetic vector). It allows us to transport
ourselves in a variety of vehicles. With energy in the form of heat we are able
to create works of art (for example, ceramics) or useful instruments (for
example, household utensils). Household appliances facilitate household chores.
And countless other applications that make our life much more comfortable.
Science
is the set of knowledge that over time have contributed to man's knowledge of the
world around him, and also of his own individuality. The scientific development
is undoubtedly the most important of those that humanity has experienced, and
it has allowed man to respond to many anxieties that have arisen and to
undertake the path towards solving different problems.
Science
is recognized as the greatest source of knowledge in the modern world, perhaps
gaining a place that in other times was occupied by theology and by the
explanation of phenomena by the actions of the gods. Currently there is a
general consensus that a knowledge becomes valid to the extent that it can be
scientifically proven, becoming, in this way, a theory.
Grouping
and Classification of Sciences
The
concept of science as the possibility of understanding the world through a
methodical procedure has been truly innovative. You can see the importance of
science by observing the enormous amount of scientific disciplines that have
arisen in order to respond to the different concerns of the human being,
leading to different types of development. The epistemologist Rudolf Carnap
raised a very interesting classification of science into three basic types.
The
natural sciences have allowed man to be able to overcome illnesses, adapt to
the environment and know the world around him, while the social sciences have
been realizing how human beings were organized to survive, overcoming their
conflicts and developing in interaction with others.
